Career Opportunities

India is aiming to become the global hub for semiconductor design, verification, manufacturing and technology development. Semiconductor chips are the basic building blocks that serve as the heart and brain of all modern electronics and information and communications technology products. Today, VLSI industry needs more and more verification engineers. Various industries/sectors need VLSI engineers in VLSI, Nano technology, Power Electronics, Telecommunications Industry, Robotics, Automation, IoT, Defense etc. In his blog, Harry Foster of Mentor Graphics has marked that with reference to the number of engineers in the last few years, a 4% increase in design engineers has required an alarming 58% increase in verification engineers. This means that there are a lot of verification job positions open worldwide that are required to be filled. As per ICRA, it is estimated to attract a capex of approximately INR 4 trillion for the next five years and has the potential to generate employment for over 3 million (skilled and unskilled labour) in India.
